i'm reminded of three things all at once: transformers, thundercats, and beetle borgs, this really ancient show. max also says metroid. i love the random little angry man face!
Huh. Just a mishmash of media influence I guess. I was thinking of Jack Kirby (if anything). In a lot of ways he was ahead of everybody as far as comics and sci-fi design. Anime and cartoon design books are interesting to look at for the art.
