I found this old sketch while I was inking some cartoon drawingsand laid some ink on it. It's mostly brush inked
(thick lines) with dip pen used on the background shape (thin lines).

This is the announcement Anthony made for our show. (Good job!)
The opening was a week ago ( I’ve been sick with a cold since ) but the show is going to be up through June and possibly longer. It was very nice talking with everyone at the reception but I was glad when it was over. Right now I’m satisfied that I finished a bunch of paintings and hope to continue despite the lack of a show deadline. Eventually I’ll post the rest of the paintings. It is my intention to post an online gallery on my web page. I have to sort out some problems with my computer first though.

Spaceman Painting

This painting was done from a sketch I found in one of my old sketchbooks. It was just a spaceman, horizon line and an oval. I improvised the color and the other elements as I went (pausing to think or panic at various stages). I used sponge on the sun/moon/planet (???) shape.

One Odd Creature

This is a painting I just finished for a gallery show with my friend Anthony Carpenter. At top is the finished painting in acrylic. Below that is a close-up photo, two color roughs and then at bottom the pencil sketch.
