A lot of people have attempted to make this movie (even Looney Tunes animator Bob Clampett tried) but for some reason it never happens. Here's an interesting interview with Illustrator/Production Designer William Stout about an ill-fated attempt at making a movie adaptation of the story.

When I was a kid playing pool we'd call this "slop". Slop was a shot that went in but wasn't the actual shot you were trying to make. In art we would call that a "happy accident".
